Dog Strikes Back: VW Super Bowl Ad

It's finally here!  The Super Bowl ad we have all been waiting for is now available for our Checkered Flag fans viewing pleasure.

You've got to hand it to the folks over at Volkswagen.  They have found advertising magic.  I know many people who are way more excited to see the new VW ads running during the Super Bowl than the big game itself.  Stemming from last year's huge Super Bowl commercial hit (featuring a boy dressed as Darth Vader using the Force to start his parents VW Passat), this year, VW returns, or should we say, strikes back, and this time, with a four legged cutie and the 2012 VW Beetle.  Just try and get through the video below without smiling!

Earlier this week, VW released the teaser ad, "the Bark Side" -which had all of us wondering where they were going.  Along with this new full length commercial hit, "Dog Strikes Back," das automaker is also running an awesome web application with which you can invite all of your friends and family to your Super Bowl party with a customized Star Wars title crawl. 

If this is what VW has going on before the big game, I cannot wait to see what they're going to pull out on Super Sunday!

Raffle For New 2012 VW Beetle

There's only a few weeks left to grab your raffle tickets for this beautiful 2012 VW Beetle!  Ticket sales will benefit St. Mary's Home for Disabled Children in Norfolk.

The all-new 2012 VW Beetle, which was donated to St. Mary's Home last summer by Checkered Flag Volkswagen, was featured at the Coastal Living Ultimate Beach House in Norfolk.   Over the past few months, St. Mary's has been selling raffle tickets to win the Beetle and benefit the home.  The VW Beetle raffle winner will be announced at St. Mary's Annual Auxiliary Auction taking place this upcoming February 25th.  You do not have to be present to win the Beetle raffle.  You just have to have the winning ticket!

Volkswagen "The Bark Side" Super Bowl Ad

You've got to hand it to the folks over at Volkswagen.  They have found advertising magic with a line of Star Wars-themed ads.  Stemming from last year's huge Super Bowl commercial hit (featuring a boy dressed as Darth Vader using the Force to start his parents VW Passat), this year, VW returns with a teaser ad featuring an array of dogs barking the famous galactic theme song.  Just try and get through the video below without smiling!

VW Beetle Raffle Tickets Still Available

If you had a chance to stop by the Coastal Living Ultimate Beach House in the East Beach neighborhood, you may have noticed a very shiny very new silver 2012 Volkswagen Beetle with a big red bow sitting outside.  For now, that pretty punch-buggy belongs to St. Mary's Home for Disabled Children in Norfolk, but soon, it could be yours!

What's Your VW Going As This Halloween?

Jack O Lanterns on porches and kindergarteners getting on the bus in full Lady GaGa costume has definitely gotten me in the mood for a little Halloween celebration!
 
While doing some very important research for Checkered Flag this week, I happened to notice that people love to dress up their cars for Halloween almost as much as they like to dress up their kids..or dogs..or cats, for that matter.  But guess what was the number one most decoratable vehicle out there??  The VW Beetle, of course!
 
Now, I don't know if you guys are aware of this or not, but all new 2012 Volkswagen Beetle is finally here and available at your favorite Hampton Roads Volkswagen store, Checkered Flag VW.  So, if you are a fan, like I am, you only hurry in this October to your Virginia Beach VW dealer to snatch one of these Bugs up.  To schedule a test drive at Checkered Flag VW on Virginia Beach Blvd, or for more information, just call (757)490-1111.

You've probably noticed the new 2012 VW Beetle commercials running on all of your favorite channels.  You know-the ones with all the high-fiving?  But, until recently, details about the all-new model Beetle have been hard to come by.

Reminder: "Like" Checkered Flag to Help St. Mary's

There are only a few days left to help donate another new Volkswagen Beetle to St. Mary's Home for Disabled Children by "liking" Checkered Flag Auto Group's Facebook page.  Help us spread the word!

Over the past few years, Checkered Flag fans have participated in fund-raising drives, 5K races, and charity events that supported numerous local community groups.  Last year, Checkered Flag fans rallied friends and family to support St. Mary's Home for Disabled Children by "liking" our Facebook page and purchasing raffle tickets for a 2010 VW Beetle.  Raffle tickets for the donated 2010 Beetle, many purchased by Checkered Flag fans, raised $33,000 for St. Mary's!



Well, this year, the buzz at Checkered Flag Volkswagen is all about the highly-anticipated arrival of the all-new 2012 Volkswagen Beetle.  So, we were thinking, who better to get the first new Beetle off the boat than the folks over at St. Mary's?
 
This is a big deal, people.  The reservation list for the new 2012 has been growing for months.  So, we're going to need a little help persuading the higher-ups. 

So, here's the deal.  If you, your friends, your co-workers, your creepy neighbor, whomever you can convince, help Checkered Flag get 500 new "likes" on our Checkered Flag Auto Group Facebook page by the end of September, then Checkered Flag Volkswagen will donate the very first new 2012 Volkswagen Beetle to St. Mary's Home for Disabled Children.

The buzz is all about the new Beetle!

The phones have been blowing up here at Checkered Flag Volkswagen, the greatest Hampton Roads VW dealer, with hundreds of customers wanting to find out all the details about the new 2012 Volkswagen Beetle.
