Downtown Tunnel closures resume

Heads up, Checkered Flag fans!  The holiday season is over.  Unfortunately, that means Downtown Tunnel closures are back in full gear.

Starting tonight, the westbound side of the Downtown Tunnel between Norfolk and Portsmouth will be closed nightly from 8p.m. to 5a.m. the next morning.

The closures will continue until this summer, except on weekends that include holidays and special events.

The eastbound side will remain open.
