Scion Pickup Truck a Very Real Possibillty

"Say, what kind of pickup truck is that?", "Oh, that's my Scion." Doesn't sound right, huh? Or does it? That is the question of the day. I just read an article indicating that Scion is considering adding a compact pickup truck to their funky, youth-oriented lineup. While they were careful to say that nothing is set in stone, and the idea is just one of many possibilities, I think it could be pretty awesome.
Scion General Manager Jack Hollis had this to say, "Toyota has such a strong heritage of doing a very good job with youth and with trucks, when you look at (the Toyota) Tacoma - I'm not trying to be too cocky, but we pretty much have owned that segment for a long time. We have to find a niche. I think there is room for it." Sizing down already small vehicles has been Scions thing all along, so why not miniaturize a small pickup and hit it hard with the quirky stick?
My mind immediately jumps to an image of the Subaru Baja, but less awkward looking, and with more edgy-cool Scion-ized styling. It will be interesting to see if this idea pans out. And more interesting to see what they call it. "xE" is up next, but I'm pretty sure there's a Nissan model with XE as a trim level, which is why Scion couldn't us xC, it was a Mercedes trim level. So xF.. that's a Jaguar. xG, perhaps? Let me know what you think about a Scion pickup. Would it be a hit?
